Are you passionate about creating a fairer future for families facing significant challenges? Do you want to be part of an organisation that has been transforming lives in Kent for 50 years? Porchlight is looking for a dedicated Family Worker to join our dynamic team.

As a Family Worker, you will be a crucial part of our innovative family support model. This role is all about engaging with families in a creative and supportive manner, offering practical advice and guidance to tackle a range of issues including sustainable recovery from poverty, school attendance and educational challenges, health and housing issues, parenting skills and meaningful activities and building supportive networks.

You will provide holistic, family-centred support through a phased approach, focusing on immediate needs before guiding families towards a brighter future. Your role will involve:

  • Conducting full family assessments and creating tailored intervention plans
  • Working independently while making informed decisions and using your initiative
  • Flexibility in service delivery to meet the needs of families effectively

The role requires:

  • A proactive and empathetic individual with a strong ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience or understanding of working with disadvantaged families and addressing complex issues
  • Strong decision-making skills and the capacity to handle challenging family dynamics
  • Flexibility and adaptability in approach and working hours
  • Commitment to upholding Porchlight’s values and procedures

There is currently two vacancies for this role.

Working pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required.
