This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

The Rough Sleeping Initiative partnership including Canterbury City Council and Porchlight are delivering support services to rough sleepers in the districts to secure and maintain accommodation and develop independent living skills. The RSI Accommodation Worker will work closely with the Rough Sleeping Initiative Team to provide strength-based support to single people that are street homeless, at risk of rough sleeping or living in supported accommodation.  Each RSI Accommodation Worker will carry a mixed caseload of clients and support them either in the community or within supported accommodation. The RSI Accommodation Worker will work with individuals to address multiple complex needs, supporting them to become more resilient and live independent lives.    

What you need:

A patient, compassionate understanding of individuals who have spent many years on the street and who may find it difficult to engage with mainstream services, and with individuals at times of crisis in their lives who may struggle to access services for the first time.

Excellent communication, administrative and negotiation skills. Enjoy working both as part of a busy team and independently within the community. A passion for working in a client focused manner and be committed to achieving positive outcomes for the people you support. An ability to set clear goals and boundaries, to empower clients, identify with clients and help them reach their full potential. A high level of resilience and the ability to work under sustained pressure.

Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2025

Working Pattern: Working across a rota system between the hours of 8am -10.30pm Monday to Sunday.
